Aamir Hafeez Ibrahim has a career spanning over 25 years in telecommunications and digital technology. With an academic background from the University of Texas and IMD Switzerland, and an Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, Aamir has been the CEO of Jazz since 2016.
Under his leadership, Jazz has maintained its position as Pakistan's leading 4G operator and major digital service provider, with over 71 million subscribers and investments exceeding US $10.4 billion, including USD 5 billion in Jazz infrastructure during Aamir’s tenure.
Aamir played a key role in scaling JazzCash, now Pakistan's largest digital wallet with over 44 million users, promoting financial inclusion and women's empowerment in the financial sector. He is a member of the Advisory Council of WiDEF, a collaborative effort by USAID and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to close the gender digital divide worldwide.
As a member of the Board of Governors at NUST, Aamir works to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering technological innovation and practical application. His efforts are supported by partnerships with academic institutions, government, and civil society, promoting a culture of innovation and cooperation.
Throughout his career, Aamir has supported diversity and inclusion, launching initiatives to improve access to digital technologies for women and underrepresented groups. These include launching Digit 4G handsets for women and entrepreneurship programs to support female business acumen in the digital age.
Aamir's leadership extends to significant contributions during national crises, including over PKR 1 billion during the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2022 floods. His proactive response to these crises underscores his commitment to national welfare and resilience.
