People at OICCI

The Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OICCI) leverages its strength from a team of highly dedicated and competent professionals. The core team of OICCI constitutes individuals coming from diverse background and equipped with strong analytical, research and communication skills. The Chamber uses a matrix model as its organizational structure where all the members communicate with each other directly creating an environment of confidence and freedom of expression. Rationale and reasoning is the measure of accepting or rejecting any opinion or suggestion.

Secretary General’s Office: is responsible for giving directions and setting the goals for all departments of the Chamber. Its main focus has been towards the profile building of the Chamber and has achieved this to a great extent by increased responsiveness and interaction with OICCI members.

The core team is divided into the following four departments:

1. Policy & Research Department

Policy & Research Department is one of the fundamental pillars of the organization and is responsible for:

  1. Drafting of documentation as and when required to highlight issues at the government level
  2. Prepare regular and specific reports, papers and presentations for the Senior Management
  3. Provide input, carry out research analysis (including analysis of existing reports and policies)

The department comprises;

Ms. Sakina Chakera – Senior Research Officer
Ms. Preya Ramchand – Research Officer

2. PR & Publication Department

PR & Publication Department at OICCI works in three broad areas namely:

  1. Press and media information management
  2. Publications planning and execution
  3. Event management

Other responsibilities of the department include planning and maintaining a database of publications’ recipients, preparation of presentations, designed material, management of the OICCI website and coordinating with the other departments regarding information dissemination.

The department comprises;

3. Corporate & Certification Department

Corporate & Certification Department primarily role is to facilitate members with services such as:

  1. Issuing Visa Recommendation Letters to member companies for their employees and executives proceeding on business trips to different countries
  2. Attestation of commercial documents such as invoices, packing lists and bills of lading among others
  3. Issuance of Certificate of Origin for exporters

The department comprises;

Mr. Agha Ashraf – Assistant Manager Corporate Affairs
Mr. Mahmood Ali – Office Assistant

4. Finance & Admin Department

Finance & Admin Department manages all aspects of administration and finance. Its primary functions are;

  1. Staff related matters such as
    1. Local Salary Comparisons
    2. Office Policies
    3. Terms of Employment
  2. Safe and secure office environment
  3. Streamlining of office supplies for smooth running of operations.
  4. Proper arrangements for events
  5. Imposition of effective insurance policies for the Chamber as well as its staff
  6. Maintaining treasury related matters and financial accounts of the Chamber
  7. Establishing clear and cohesive administrative and financial procedures in line with the Internal Control System

The department comprises;

Mr. Moin Mohajir – Deputy Secretary General & Head of Finance
Mr. Waqar Arif – Senior IT Officer
Mr. Syed Kamal Uddin – Finance Executive

In addition to the management officials mentioned above, operations of the Chamber are contributed by a number of other administrative and technical staff. Displaying all of their names may not be feasible but we acknowledge their valuable contribution towards OICCI.
