A delegation from the International IFC - International Finance Corporation, led by Jamie Fergusson, Global Director for Climate Business, visited the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) on March 4, 2025. The delegation included Zeeshan Sheikh, Country Manager for Pakistan and Afghanistan; Naz Khan, Principal Country Officer for Pakistan; Reshma Aftab, Private Sector Specialist; and Imaad Ud Din, CFA, Investment Officer.
The delegation was welcomed by OICCI President and Faysal Bank Limited President & CEO, Yousaf Hussain, along with Secretary General M Abdul Aleem, Executive Director Kashif Shafi, and ESG Sub-Committee Co-Chair and Managing Director of BASF, Andrew Bailey.
During the meeting, Secretary General M. Abdul Aleem delivered a presentation on the Chamber’s climate initiatives. IFC representatives emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in developing an effective climate action plan.
Additionally, the World Bank, in coordination with OICCI, plans on conducting capacity-building programs and has requested the private sector for specific, tangible policy recommendations to strengthen Pakistan’s climate framework.
The meeting was also attended by ESG Sub-Committee members, including Fatima Arshad from Unilever, Mariam Durrani from Pakistan Cables, and Salima Hemani SEA, CSCP, CTSC from BASF.
