The OICCI recently organized the Pakistan Energy Symposium at the Islamabad Serena Hotel, bringing together policymakers, industry experts, and business leaders to chart out a sustainable energy future for the country. The event commenced with a welcome address by Rehan Shaikh, President of OICCI (Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry), followed by an opening address from Waqar Siddiqui CEO and MD of Shell Pakistan Ltd.

Senator Dr. Musadik Malik, Federal Minister of Petroleum and Water Resources, delivered ministerial keynotes, emphasizing the government's commitment to sustainable energy initiatives. Dr.Nazir Abbas Zaidi, Secretary General of @OCAC, and Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, CEO of K-Electric Ltd., shared their insights on the future of the energy sector in Pakistan.

In the second session, a dynamic dialogue on "Unlocking the Opportunities in the Oil and Gas Sector" took place. Mazhar Hasnani, CEO of Engro Vopak Terminal Limited delivered a thought-provoking keynote. The panel discussion included prominent figures such as Masroor Khan, Chairman of OGRA, Ahmed Z., Country Chairman and GM of Chevron Pakistan Lubricants Ltd., Adil Khattak, CEO of Attock Refinery Limited Refinery Ltd., Habib Haider, Director of Corporate Relations at Shell Pakistan Ltd., and Asrar Muhammad, VP of Finance and Commercial at United Energy Pakistan. Faisal Iftikhar, Head of Supply Operations at Shell Pakistan Limited, moderated the session.

The third session featured an insightful dialogue on "Unearthing the Potential of Pakistan's Power Sector," with contributions from @Aftab Mehmood Butt, CEO of Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO), Ruhail Mohammad from Lucky Electric Power Company Limited Company, Ali Khizar Aslam, Head of Research at Business Recorder, Dr. Khalid Waleed from SDPI, and Amir Iqbal, CEO of Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC). This session was moderated by Palwasha Riar, Head of Learning for Asia Pacific at Shell Pakistan.

The symposium concluded by a vote of thanks from M Abdul Aleem, CE/Secretary General of OICCI (Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry). Saad Ahmed, Country Lead for Business Development and New Ventures at Shell Pakistan Ltd. was the Master of Ceremony.
